Insurance Coordinator - Middle East
The insurance coordinator is responsible for obtaining the insurance eligibility verification and authorization for a patient. He/she needs to ensure that the patient has coverage and that the services provided are being covered. Through this process, he/she ensures that authorization-related denial and appeals can be minimized also that accurate cost estimate is derived at the appropriate rates.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits, to ensure necessary procedures are covered by an individual insurance
Responsible for obtaining authorization from the insurance company
Responsible for entering data in an accurate manner
Contact the insurance companies on the phone if required
Education, Experience, and skills needed
Analytical skills to review the account prior to authorization to the payer and ensure all required data elements are correct as per the insurance and medical code sets.
Basic understanding of the billing and payer adjudication guidelines related to DHA or HAAD.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Proficiency in the use of PCs and MS Office suite.
Excellent communication skills.
Willingness to work in different shifts and work location within the UAE
Coding certification from AHIMA and or AAPC
Understanding of the various RCM departments
Fluent Arabic speaking skill
