Information Technology (IT) Executive
The IT Executive will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. Also maintain, upgrade and manage software, hardware, and networks to ensure that infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. IT executive responsibility is to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.
Roles and Responsibilities
Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices and install and configure software and hardware
Check computer hardware to ensure the functionality
Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work and perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems
Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls and Upgrade systems with new releases and models
Education, Experience, and skills needed
Education: BSC Computer Science/Informational technology, BA Computer science, Engineering or a related field.
Work experience as an IT technician.
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management and knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skillsOutstanding organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication ability
Certification as an IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
